JP Saxe Performs “A Little Bit Yours” & “If the World Was Ending” with Julia Michaels on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve
- Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe appeared on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve to perform “A Little Bit Yours”.
The song was released in September 2020, following his sophomore EP “Hold It Together”. It was written by JP Saxe, Ryan Marrone and Benjamin Rice.
JP Saxe said of the song, “'A Little Bit Yours' it's about the feeling right before the end of the tunnel, right before life got a different kind of beautiful than I ever could have anticipated. I learned a lot about myself writing it, both musically and emotionally. I'd never really sung like this before, which was scary. Lyrical vulnerability I've gotten used to, but vocal vulnerability is new. If I could only ever play you one more new song, this is the one I would pick.”
Also, he performed “If the World Was Ending” with American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels on the event.
“If the World Was Ending” was nominated for 2021 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year. The ceremony will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on March 14, 2021.
JP Saxe shared on social media, “best and worst year of my life. played in europe for the first time, put out my first EP, lost my mom, got nominated for a grammy, fell more in love with Julia Michaels, watched the world fall apart while mostly in my PJs, watched the world come together also mostly in my PJ's, drank a lot of boba, and felt connected with so many of you all over the world.... I've always romanticized the unexpected and I'm excited for a lot of it, for all of us, in 2021. sending some hopeful love to u wherever u are”
