Olivia Dean Releases New Song “Lady Lady”
British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean released the second single “Lady Lady” from her upcoming sophomore album “The Art of Loving” on July 10, 2025, following “Nice to Each Other”.
The album “The Art of Loving”, which is set to be released on September 26, 2025 via Capitol Records and Polydor Records.
Also, the song follows the collaborative song “Rein Me In” with British singer-songwriter Sam Fender, which was released last month.
The song is accompanied by the Jake Erland-directed music video, starring ballet icon and principal dancer Francesca Hayward.
The track is a perfect blend of neo-soul, pop, and jazz, highlighted by her enchantingly beautiful voice.
It was written by Homer Steinweiss, Leon Michels, Matt Hales, and Olivia Dean. Produced by Leon Michels, Matt Hales, and Zach Nahome.
Olivia Dean said of the song, “Lady Lady is a song about the universe, mother nature and accepting and trusting in the plan that she has for you. It's about the feeling of having to change just as you're getting used to a version of yourself. This song reminds me of the power we hold as women, I think it feels like peace.”- The new album comprises 12 tracks, produced by Olivia Dean and Zach Nahome. It is her first album in two years since the 2023 debut album “Messy”.
The album was inspired by African-American visual artist Mickalene Thomas' book “All About Love”.
Olivia Dean told ELLE about the album, “That book is like the Bible. Love is something that can feel quite mystical. It's this thing we all crave but aren't properly taught how to do. Why don't we have a module at school? So the album was just me zooming into that and looking at the last two years of my life and everything I've learnt until now.” - source : Apple Music
