Lady Gaga Releases New Song ”The Dead Dance” from Netflix ”Wednesday”
American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga released a new song ”The Dead Dance” along with a music video, from Netflix ”Wednesday” season 2 on September 3, 2025.
Lady Gaga appears on episode six of ”Wednesday” as the character Rosaline Rotwood, a Nevermore teacher in the 1960s with psychic abilities.
The track was written by Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, and Lady Gaga. Produced by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and Cirkut.
The accompanying video was directed by Tim Burton and filmed on the Island of the Dolls in Xochimilco, south of Mexico City in early July.
Lady Gaga spoke at the Spotify and Netflix premiere event last week, “I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday Season Two, even just being a small part of the show. I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna [Ortega], and everyone here, it's so incredible. Thank you. I'm also here to confirm my song 'The Dead Dance' is coming.”
Lady Gaga will perform the song at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6, 2025.
She has nominated for 12 awards, the most of any nominee, including Video and Song of the Year for “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars.- Music supervisor Jen Malone told Tudum, “It's not 'Bloody Mary,' and it's not a remix. It's a brand-new Gaga song, and she's an icon, a once-in-a-lifetime artist who we got to work with. And it's perfect in every way. This is exactly what the fans want.”
American actress Jenna Ortega said of working with Lady Gaga at SXSW this spring, “It's the best. She's the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I've ever worked with. It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much. Then just finding out that she's such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it's very strange. I love that you never know what to expect from her, but you can always expect kindness and generosity.” - source : Apple Music
