  • Halsey Drops New Music Video for “Drive”

  • American singer-songwriter Halsey dropped a new music video for “Drive” on September 2, 2025.

The video celebrates the tenth anniversary of her debut album “BADLANDS”. It is part two of “Badlands: Double Feature”
Last month, she dropped the video for “Gasoline” as part one of “Badlands: Double Feature”. Both videos were directed by Halsey.
“Drive” was featured on “BADLANDS” as the fourth track, and “Gasoline” was included on the deluxe edition of “BADLANDS”.
Two videos continue the story that Halsey started a decade ago with the video for “New Americana”.
The clips feature American actor Tyler Posey, who appeared on her music video “Colors” released in 2016.
“Drive” was written by Halsey and Tim Anderson. Produced by Tim Anderson and Dylan William.
The tenth anniversary edition of “BADLANDS” entitled “Badlands (Decade Edition Anthology)” was released on August 29, 2025.

Halsey said of the album, “So much has happened in the last decade, but BADLANDS remains the most exciting musical journey of my life. I have so many unbelievable things planned for this month to celebrate the album that changed my life and introduced me to the fans I'll love forever.”
  • Halsey told Popjustice about “Drive” a decade ago, “The breaking point for me was when I wrote 'Drive' which is track four on the album. It's the first happy song I've ever written which is really cool for me, because it's an optimistic song. It's a sweet song, it's about being in a relationship, being in love with someone and not knowing how to tell them. The premise of the song is: all we do is drive, all we do is think about the feelings that we hide....it's so ironic that it's called 'Drive' because it symbolises this departure from the Badlands–this point where I drive away. I leave. After that come these pop songs—they're bright, they've a different kind of energy, this coming-of-age, nostalgic sound to them.”
