Balu Brigada Releases New Song “What Do We Ever Really Know?”
New Zealand indie rock band Balu Brigada, consisting of Henry Beasley (vocals/bass) and Pierre Beasley (guitar), released a new song “What Do We Ever Really Know?” on July 24, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of their upcoming debut album “Portal”, which is set to be released on August 29, 2025 via Atlantic Records and Warner Music Australia.
It was written and produced by Henry Beasley and Pierre Beasley. The accompanying music video was directed by Sean.
The band said of the song, “'What Do We Ever Really Know?' is an existential crisis, peppered with a euphoric appreciation of the present. Feeling the weight of existence and all the intensities that come with ambition, but finding the sweet spot that lets you release all the tension and live in the reality that no one knows anything, and we're all just idiots on a spinning rock, doing our bestest.”
They added, “It's about how life is weird and cruel and beautiful and ironic and random and unfair and no one knows what they're doing but that's weirdly comforting when you think about it. Hope you dance to it.”- The debut album comprises 12 tracks, written and produced by Henry Beasley and Pierre Beasley. The band recorded the album over three years in New Zealand, New York, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
The band said of the album, “This album is entirely written & produced by the two of us and is a reflection of our commitment to experimentation in the studio.
