  • Sam Ryder Announces New Album “Heartland”, Shares New Song “The Feeling Never Went Away”

  • British singer-songwriter Sam Ryder has announced his upcoming sophomore album “Heartland” will be released on October 17, 2025 via independent label Artist Theory.

The album is his first body of work in three years since the 2022 album “There's Nothing but Space, Man!”. It is the first release as an independent artist.
He wrote, co-produced and recorded 13 tracks in a log cabin in Nashville.”

Sam Ryder said, “I don't think I've ever felt so low in my life. I don't really want to exist in this paradigm of music where no one knows if their job is safe. I needed to go away put my phone in drawer and step away for a while. Just walking out of that office and leaving that major label world behind. I believe there's a different way to making music. I went through the darkness. I'm ready to come back with an album that I feel is honest about that experience. I'm ready now. This is 'Heartland'.

From the album, he released a new song “The Feeling Never Went Away” on August 1, 2025.
The song the fourth single off of the album, following “OH OK”, “White Lies”, and “Armour”.
He first performed the song at Glastonbury Festival 2025 back in June.
It was written by Jon Green, Mikky Ekko, and Sam Ryder. Produced by Sam Ryder, Jon Green, and Matt Zara.
  • Sam Ryder said of the song, “It’s about still having feelings for someone or something even though they perhaps don’t deserve them anymore... Even though I think I’ve conquered them, back they come. Healing and breaking the cycle is about recognising these feelings and accepting them.”

He said of the album, “This record is a collection of songs attempting to convey the feeling of the last couple of years. The wish is to find a connection with you no matter where you are in the world, whether it’s flying high or feeling like you’re the only ship out on the ocean. If you’re navigating the pain of forgiveness and the weight that comes with holding onto resentment, if you’ve lost confidence in yourself and you’re trying to find a way back to your spark, spirit and hope, this is for you. Take to the Heartland. I’m with you every step.”

  • He shared on social media, “There’s been more than a handful of times I didn’t think I’d get to say this, buuuut...my second album ‘Heartland’ will be yours on October 17th. It’s been a long year getting this to you, I’ve lived with these songs for so long now that they feel like a part of me. I’m ready to share that part now and sing them together and share in the love and loss that this record has seen me through. Thank you for everything, always. Your hope keeps my hope going and that’s what this body of work is all about. I can’t wait until it’s yours.”
