Paradise Circus Drops New Music Video for “Icarus”
British indie rock band Paradise Circus, consisting of David Purchase (vocals/guitar), Callum Cartwright (guitar), Joshua Taylor (bass) and Christian Woolley (drums), dropped a new music video for “Icarus” on June 24, 2025.
The song was released as the first single after new members Joshua Taylor and Christian Woolley joined the band on June 6, 2025.
It was written by Callum Cartwright, Christian Woolley, David Purchase, and Joshua Taylor. Produced by Niall Fennel.
The video was filmed by Anna Kate and Anna Melitina, featuring dancer Elleese Bradshaw.
The band said of the video, “This one has been so special to create as it’s the first release after the relaunch of PC. Icarus embodies the all too familiar frustration of wanting to do more with your life and taking that leap, even if it burns you out in the process. Whether that’s the rut of your job, wishing you had more money or feeling left behind. It’s a feeling we all experience in our own way and Icarus is that part of us who does take that leap-despite knowing the consequences.”- They continued, “We found that the video was perfect to portray this with our good friend Elleese Bradshaw wanting to become a successful ballerina but also heading to work. A huge thank you to BOHNS burgers for joining the project and letting us use their wonderful work place with the BEST burgers in the world! Thanks to everyone who came down to feature in the shoot and to Anna Kate & Anna Melitina for capturing this experience!”

The band lead singer David Purchase told Grunge Included about the song, “That song, 'Icarus' is quite special to us, especially to Joshua and Christian. I'd say 'Icarus' is quite emotional for Joshua. Because Joshua is a bit older than us, and he used to be in a band called Hyena. He once played in this band called Hyena. They did really well, and they were part of the Btown scene as well. They got up to a quite good level, where they were just about to be signed to a major. And then it all flopped. So he kind of took a break from music for a few years, and he kind of missed that. And now he's in Paradise Circus. The one thing he wanted to do was to release music and start writing again. And I think that's what he enjoyed the most was just sitting down with us, and having that time, where he could release some energy, that he hadn't been able to do before. And 'Icarus' was one of those tracks where it was the big relaunch, and he loved it.”
