Miley Cyrus Releases Two New Songs “Secrets” featuring Lindsey Buckingham & Mick Fleetwood and “Lockdown” featuring David Byrne
American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus released two new songs “Secrets” and “Lockdown” on September 19, 2025.
Two songs is featured on the deluxe edition of her ninth studio album “Something Beautiful”, which was released on the same day.
On “Secrets”, she teamed up with British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood.
Miley Cyrus wrote the song and dedicated it to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
The track was written by Jonathan Rado, Michael Pollack, Miley Cyrus, Shawn Everett, Tom Hull, and Tyler Johnson. Produced by Miley Cyrus, Jonathan Rado, Shawn Everett, and Michael Pollack.
The accompanying music video was directed by Miley Cyrus with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. The video was filmed at Los Angeles' historic Million Dollar Theatre.
Miley Cyrus said of the song, “This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time but always loved. In my experience, forgiveness and freedom are one and the same. Thank you to Lindsey Buckingham & Mick Fleetwood for bringing magic to the music. This song is for my dad.”
She said on Monica Lewinsky's Reclaiming podcast earlier this year, “I wrote this song about my dad because I wanted him to tell me - even though they were secrets, even though I didn't really want to know - I wanted to be the one he felt safe enough to tell.”- Billy Ray Cyrus said, “For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called 'Secrets' and got my favourite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you Mile.”
On “Lockdown”, she joined forces with American singer-songwriter David Byrne.
A 13-minute track was written by David Byrne, Gregory Aldae Hein, Jonathan Rado, Max Taylor-Sheppard, Maxx Morando, Michael Pollack, Miley Cyrus, Pino Palladino, and Shawn Everett.
