Caity Baser Releases New EP “There, I Said It”
British singer-songwriter Caity Baser released her new EP “There, I Said It” on August 22, 2025 via Capitol Records UK.
It is her first project in a year and a half since the debut mixtape “Still Learning”.
The EP comprises 8 tracks, produced by Anthony Vander West, building on live instrumentation.
On the EP, she focuses on her other, softer side and is a highly dramatic portrayal of heartache and healing from her experiences, capturing both the ugliness of the world outside and the more fragile self within.
Caity Baser said of the EP, “It's hugely important to me and contains some difficult feelings - I feel really excited to explore a more vulnerable side of me and talk about things that are a part of who I am. This EP is all about the things I've never spoken about; the things I taught myself to be ashamed of. I've had so many experiences that shaped who I am. All the uncomfortable and beautiful things we go through affect who we are now and shouldn't be forgotten. I struggle with memories that keep me up at night, and I think we should talk about it. I want you to know you're not alone. I'm ready for you to hear this side of me.”- She told Billboard about the EP, “I had a series of particular scenarios I wanted to speak about. I had most of the song titles ready before I'd even started working on them – I literally had everything! I finally found what I wanted to say in my music. t has felt like a nice 'f–k you' to some situations I have been through.”
She continued, “When I made music before, I'd be obsessed with it for a week and then I'd be like, 'Ew'. Some of it was so embarrassing. But with my new EP, I listen to it all the time: when I'm cleaning up [my flat], I practice singing it. That has been so rewarding for me.” -
Caity Baser explained some tracks for the EP.
“Watch That Girl (She's Gonna Say It)”
I'm back! Surprise!! And I am SO happy to introduce you to my brand new song 'Watch That Girl (She's Gonna Say It)'. The start of my new musical journey and I'm so excited to share it with you all,” Baser says. “It is different from what you've heard from me before, but hopefully you can hear it's the same me, and just like always: I'm being as honest and true to myself as possible.
“The Story Of Her”
I feel like I'm on a journey always, like we all are. Previously I've always made songs about boys and how I hate them and how they're all stupid. But I've recently fallen in love, and I feel like it would be a lie if I kept making songs about how I hate men. I thought I needed to really dive deep into other things that upset me, and some of those topics are really personal, like my family and things that have happened to me in my past. So it's the first time I've felt ready and comfortable enough to touch on difficult things. But it's really exciting because it's a whole other side that no one knows yet, so it's really cool.
“The Weight Of You (I'm Glad You Died)”
When I was eight, I was sexually assaulted. I've never known how to explain how that felt, because I was so young and I was flung into all these super serious situations, like police interviews and going into court. It was just a really horrible experience, and for my whole life, I've been ashamed of it and never really known how to write it down or how to say it.
I wanted to write a song that's not like, 'I'm so sad, feel so sorry for me, I'm a victim', which obviously, technically I am, but I don't want to be ashamed of that. I want to be empowered by what happened to me. I feel like I now have taken ownership of that situation. It doesn't - and he doesn't - control me anymore.

“She wore cute, tiny little bunches in her hair and a sports jersey. And you know what? She was probably always chasing the birds in her garden.” - source : Apple Music
