Alessi Rose Releases New Song “First Original Thought”

London-based indie pop singer-songwriter Alessi Rose will release the upcoming deluxe edition of her third EP “Voyeur” on November 7, 2025.
The EP “Voyeur” was released back in July. The deluxe edition comprises 11 tracks, including the original 8 songs and three new songs.
Alessi Rose said of the EP “‘Voyeur Deluxe’ stemmed from me continuing to write on tour after ‘Voyeur’ was completed and craving some more big, melodramatic pop songs to perform at my shows, whilst also being in the headspace of wanting to write about things in their most raw and uncomfortable honest forms, in real time.”
From the EP, she unveiled a new song “First Original Thought” on September 26, 2025.
The track was written by Alessandra Rose Jones, Amy Allen, and Blake Slatkin, who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Ben Cole.- Alessi Rose said of the song, “‘First Original Thought’ is a cheeky yet cutting song about somebody realising they missed you and need to grovel to try and get you back, far far too late after it’s over. It came from a joke I made about the guy having original autonomous thoughts for the first time ever, and now he’s realised that he misses me, and the song kinda ended being a funny hyperbole of that whole situation.”
She said of the video, “An ode to pop music and getting sweaty (and doing the Madonna hung up Choreo against the wall), I am so proud of this song and this video. Growing up watching videos by the likes of Britney, Gwen, Madonna (duh!), I knew that when I finally got to do a video I was going to make it as quintessentially myself as possible - getting sweaty dancing whilst bossing round a room full of men feels like just that. I am such a visual person who loves performing so this feels like a step in the direction of everything I've always dreamed of making since I was a little girl.” -
She shared on social media, “My favourite song so far, I wrote it with my faves Amy Allen and Blake Slatkin on the day of one of my moroccan lounge shows in LA, after I came in to the studio complaining about some guy who had realised he missed me wayyyyyyy way (WAY) too late (1 year too late mind you), and I had jokes about him having had his first ever autonomous, original thought; that thought being that he missed me and had finally realised his misfortune. It’s funny and cutting and honest and every word of it feels exactly like the real conversation we all had giggling about it. It is the 80s-disco-new york-club-arms-in-the-air-sarcastic-anthem of my dreams and if I was a boxer, it would be my walk on song - it embodies me THAT much. i’m so massively entirely positively overwhelmed by the response to it before it even got released so thank you for being so cool and getting excited with me, you all truly make this the most fun. Can’t wait till i finally get to perform her - maybe sooner than you think? That would be real fun.” - source : Apple Music
