Grace VanderWaal Releases New Song “High”
American singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal released her brand new single called “High” on October 10, 2025.
The song is her first music since the sophomore album “Childstar”, which was released back in April.
She write the track during an unplanned studio session.
The track captures the quiet beauty of fleeting, perfect moments, the kind that feel suspended in time and linger long after they've passed. It glides on snapshots of nostalgia gentle imagery, front seats, porch lights, white sugar in iced tea, painting a world both intimate and cinematic.
It was written by Grace VanderWaal, Jonathan Buscema, and Mitch McCarthy. Produced by Jon Buscema.
The accompanying music visualizer was directed by Sabra Binder.- Grace VanderWaal said of the song, “About a month ago, I went into the studio with no idea what I was going to write. I just started singing, 'Do you wanna get high?' and from there the idea came to make a song about those moments where everything already feels perfect... and then your friend looks at you and says, 'You know what would make this even better?'”
