  • Amber Mark Premieres New Song “Don't Remind Me” with Anderson .Paak on BBC Radio 1

  • New York-based singer-songwriter Amber Mark premiered a new song “Don't Remind Me” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is the fourth and final pre-release single from her upcoming third studio album “Pretty Idea”, which is set to be released this Friday (October 10th).
On the track, she teamed up with American R&B singer-songwriter Anderson .Paak.
It was written by John Ryan, Amber Mark, Anderson .Paak, Julian Bunetta, and Kendrick Nicholls. Produced by Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, and Matt Zara.

Amber Mark told Jack Saunders about collaboration with Anderson .Paak, “He is insanely talented. He's been a dream collaborator of mine for so many years, so it's very surreal to hear his voice on a alongside mine on a song. It's been like amazing, honestly we work with a few of the same people, and so that's how the connection happened. And I woke up the next morning to like, a rough draft of his verse on the record. And it was just like, it felt like Christmas morning. It was such a beautiful surprise. So I'm so happy to have him on.”
  • She said of the song, “Honestly, I think I was kind of getting out of a really a long relationship that I had been in for quite some time in a very serious one. And I had very much imagined spending the rest of my life with this person. And dreamed up that us settling down together, and then we reality kind of set in with that we live very different lives. So we ended up parting ways. And it was really hard for me to let go of that person. He was my person. I was so madly in love with this person and anything I experienced I wanted to share with him. And so it was hard for me to let go of that feeling.”

She continued, “And there was a lot of moments where I was like, 'Is this the right move? Did we make a mistake?' And so in those moments, I think I had turned to ways to distract myself from those thoughts which weren't necessarily the best ways of doing it. I think I exaggerated a little bit for the purpose of the song, so it wasn't that extreme. But I definitely wanted to kind of talk about because, I tend to dwell and, like, obsess on certain things, especially when it comes to boys. And so I wanted to kind of talk about the feeling you get when you just like, want to erase all of that from your map, your mind.”

  • The new album comprises 12 tracks, featuring collaborations with Anderson .Paak and John The Blind. Produced by Amber Mark, Chase.wav, Jay Century, Jose Rios, Julian Bunetta, KingJet, Matt Zara and Two Fresh.

Amber Mark said of the album, “These songs have so much meaning for me behind each and every one of them. But I think the most important thing is, regardless of how they connect with it. I just want them to have some sort of human emotion that a song, brings out into them. It's always such an amazing experience for me when I find a song that I connect with so deeply that I feel like it was written for me or about me. So to be able to do that for somebody else and to help them get through whatever scenario they're in. I think is probably what I want them to take away from it.”
