Bettina Premieres New Song “Messy Girl” on BBC Music Introducing
London-based singer-songwriter Bettina releases a new song “Messy Girl” on September 5, 2025.
The song is received its first play during BBC Music Introducing.
She blends elements of electronic, R&B, pop and hip-hop to create a sound reminiscent of early 2000s Timbaland-era pop, with a fresh, modern twist.
The track was written by Amjad Mrad, Eric Bonner, Isak Scorpio Belmarez, and Jasmin Peters. Produced by Scorpio Vision.
Bettina said of the song, “The single is my clapback to the gossip mill. I got so used to people talking and hearing crazy rumours about myself that I figured, ok bet, I can be all of that if you want me to, but it's not gonna end well for you if I do. This song is a challenge to everyone who thinks they know me better than I do, and can't keep my name out of their mouths. I also really wanted to make something danceable and urgent for those absolutely unapologetically feral nights at the end of summer, when you know it's about to end so you just go full send on the chaos and the messiness.”- She shared on social media, “From the basement to the BBC fr on this one?! who would've thought that my rbf would a) get me in so much drama b) let us write a banger w the boys and c) debut on BBC radio??? not me of course. But fr made this in literally the most intense week of my liiiiife last year lmao, so thankful to have people around me who understand the mess and help me channel it into my artistry always.”
