Gretel Returns With New Song “Unbloom”
London-based singer-songwriter Gretel Hänlyn, aka Gretel returned with a new song “Unbloom” on August 28, 2025 via Breadcrumb Records and AWAL.
The song is her first music in over a year since “Far Out”, which was released last June.
She record the song in just ten minutes during an impromptu session at RAK Studios. Originally, the song was not meant to be released, as her team had passed on the demo.
The track was written by Danio Forni and Madeleine Haenlein. Produced by Seth Evans and Margo Broom.
She first performed the song during a small intimate show at The Waiting Room in London on August 28, 2025.
Gretel said of the song, “Unbloom is about challenging heavy feelings by embracing them. It's about letting yourself succumb and unfurl, just to see what's left at your core. This was always my favourite song, but admittedly it wasn't meant to make the record because my team didn't dig the demo! But in fluke conditions, my band convinced me to record it in between recording other songs at RAK. We got the whole thing in about 10 mins, which was amazing considering I hadn't taught the band the song before that! It was very spur of the moment. Felt like magic!!”- source : Apple Music
