LANY Releases New Album “Soft”
American pop-rock band LANY, consisting of Paul Jason Klein (vocals/guitar) and Jake Clifford Goss (drums), released their sixth studio album “Soft” on October 10, 2025.
This marks their first album in two years since the 2023 album “A Beautiful Blur”.
Also, it is the first release after the band lead singer Paul Jason Klein survived a near-fatal car accident last summer.
Paul Jason Klein said, “It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Living when you shoulda died puts things into such a diff[erent] perspective, resulting in the craziest chain reaction of internal glow up. Highly recommend. I had let the hurtful words and actions of others change who I was and who I was meant to be. The hardening of my heart was standing in the way of my full potential and power. God knew I needed a shake up so he gave it to me. He's the best. Now I'm the strongest AND the softest I've ever been in my entire life.”
The album comprises 10 tracks, produced by LANY and Tommy King.- Paul Jason Klein said of the album cover art, “The lamb on the album cover represents the softness of a heart and the blood on my hands represents the struggle and the strength it takes to protect it. In this world of sin and brokenness - adversity is constant, betrayal is rampant, and disappointment is inevitable. The easiest thing would be to let life and people harden you and turn you numb. But, then, what is the point of being alive if you can't feel anything? For me, forgiveness was and is the only way forward. That's what the final scene from our 'last forever' video represents. The embrace is 'I forgive you. I release you. I bless you.' Because protecting my softness is protecting my essence, and I wanna leave this earth as soft as I came into it.”

Paul Jason Klein said of the album, “I wanna exercise and maintain a spirit of humility but also declare that I love this album so much and my emotional attachment to it runs alarmingly deep. nothing was gonna stop Jake and I from making this album and nothing in the world will ever stop us from being LANY.”
The band added, “It's so easy to let the challenges of the world harden you. The hardest thing to do is to fight against it - to stay soft. To protect your softness and the things that you love.”
The band explained some tracks for the album.
“Know You Naked”
“Every now and then we write a song during the day that makes me dance in my underwear later that night. It's the best feeling. I'm so proud to be a part of this song (and album) with Jake Goss; and to be joined on this journey by some of our heroes - Tommy King, Pino Palladino and Andrew Aged. And to Nicolle Galyon and Mark Trussell - thank you for writing this fun and hot, 2-chord bop with me on a cold, snowy, December Monday in Nashville.”
