  • Florence Road Premieres New Song “Break The Girl” on BBC Radio 1

  • Irish alt-rock band Florence Road, consisting of Lily Aron (vocals), Emma Brandon (guitar), Ailbhe Barry (bass) and Hannah Kelly (drums), premiered a new song “Break The Girl” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song follows their debut mixtape “Fall Back”, which was released on June 20, 2025. The band added the new song to the mixtape and released it as the 6-track EP “Fall Back” on September 1, 2025.
It was written by Ailbhe Barry, Jamie Rendle, and Lily Aron. Produced by Jamie Rendle.
The accompanying music video was directed by Benji Gershon.

The band guitarist Emma Brandon told Jack Saunders about the song, “Basically, Lily was talking to someone, and some feelings came up. And it kind of just flowed out. And the lyrics are very meaningful, but it's still fun and really fun to play live.”

Lead singer Lily Aron continued, “Basically, I was having a kind of a tough conversation with a friend, and he was just weighing on me. And decided to write about it. It's kind of how sometimes the most beautiful people get treated the worst, and how it's really tough to stand by and watch that happen.”
  • The mixtape comprises 5 tracks, produced by Jamie Rendle, Dan Wilson, Ryan Linvill, Dan Nigro, Luca Caruso, and John Hill.

The band said of the mixtape, “We decided to call this mixtape Fall Back because these songs were written in the last two years where there's been a lot of change in our lives - from leaving school to growing into adults (ish) - it can all feel very daunting and scary. almost like stumbling and falling backwards. and so the name was born. Anyways I am yapppping but only because we are so proud of these songs and hope you hear them and enjoy them as much as we do.”

Lily Aron added about EP, “It can be very terrifying and there's that constant feeling of, 'I don't know what I'm doing.' These songs represent or have that feeling of falling back with no knowledge of what's going to be there or if you're even going to land.”
