Pillow Queens Returns With New Song “Be A Big Girl”
Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens, consisting of Sarah Corcoran (vocals/guitar/bass), Cathy McGuinness (lead guitar) and Pamela Connolly (vocals/guitar/bass), returned with a new song “Be A Big Girl” on September 2, 2025.
The song is their first music since the third studio album “Name Your Sorrow”, which was released last April. Also it is the first release after drummer Rachel Lyons left the band.
Additionally, the song is the first single as an independent artist through their own label Pillow Queen Records.
The track was written by Cathy Mc Guinness, Pamela Connolly, Rachel Lyons, and Sarah Corcoran. Produced by Daniel Fox at Sonic Studios in Dublin.- The band said of the song, “We're really excited to be releasing music again. Usually people expect 'being a big girl' to mean keeping your chin up, not making a fuss, and politely ignoring the fact you're being shoved towards the door. For us, it's the opposite. It's staying exactly where you are when you're told to leave, making a fuss, and taking up more space in the process. Living in Ireland, making music here, and not hopping on the first flight out is already an act of stubborn optimism. And yeah, sometimes you're crying in Lidl or planning a better life in Australia, but at least you're still standing. That's the kind of 'big girl' we're interested in being.”
