Meg Smith Teams Up with MARIS & Molly Grace for New Remix “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous(er)”
New York City-based indie pop singer-songwriter Meg Smith teamed up with Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter MARIS and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Molly Grace to release a new remix “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous(er)” along with a music video on August 1, 2025.
The original version of the song, “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous” was released back in June.
It was written by JT FOLEY, Maris Kathleen Ward, Meg Smith, Molly Grace, and Petro AP. Produced by Petro AP and Jackson Hoffman.
The track features Stefan Haerle on saxophone.
Meg Smith said of the song, “So proud of this remix and I had the best time creating it with Molly & Maris and everyone please say thank you to Stefan Haerle for the sax solo.”- MARIS said, “'Girls Just Wanna Be Famous(er)' feels like both a celebration and a lament for the path of a creative girl who really just wants to connect with people. Meg literally just DM'd me on Instagram and asked if I would be down to write a verse, which I was so excited about because I already loved the song so much! I ended up writing a verse in one sitting and recorded the vocals in my home studio. Seeing everything come to life has been so fun and beautiful, and I'm honored to be on a song with such stunning pop icons!”
Molly Grace said, “Making this remix was such a joy & a whirlwind & I'm so grateful meg asked me n my girl MARIS to hop on.” -
