  • Evalyn Releases New Song “Playstation”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Evalyn released a new song “Playstation” along with a music video on October 8, 2025.

The song is the third single off of her upcoming sophomore album “A Quiet Life”, following “Boys Girls” and “The Feeling”.
Evalyn wrote the song with producer Dave Burris during she was pregnant.
The track is a mood-rich dark electro pop anthem filled with thrashing guitars and hyperpop melodies.
The video was directed by Maya Sassoon, as with the previous music videos for “Boys Girls” and “The Feeling”.

Evalyn said of the song, “Playstation was written on a scorching hot day in LA when I was pregnant and nauseous and was basically bed ridden every day. We wanted to capture the feeling of getting caught droning on your phone, playing video games or watching reality tv in bed and getting stuck there - the guilty pleasure of it. This song represents the sea change in the sonic direction of the album toward something darker and more intense.”
  • She continued, “From here on music has a different the energy. 'The Feeling' and 'Boys Girls' were written before I was pregnant. The rest of the album is about the existential angst, fear and anxiety I felt about having a baby and a new identity as a mother in a digital world. It's about my sanity and sense of self being warped and altered throughout my pregnancy.”

She added, “I think the world wants pregnancy and motherhood to look beautiful and soft. But so much of the process is actually very metal. It's incredible, and I'm I' beyond grateful that I was able to go through it and have my son. But it's extreme both physically and emotionally. So this music is an exploration of my experience of those extremes. One more important thing here: mothers are the strongest people on the planet and it is fucking cool to have a baby (birth, surrogate, adoption, however you decide to be a parent).”

  • She said of the video, “This video incorporated a lot of core tenets of the new music - technology, feeling overwhelmed by screens, anxiety, drowning in your feelings. We got to smash old tv's and I was fully drenched in pouring water so I believe it matched the energy of the song.”

The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Dave Burris, and pushes further into conceptual territory, drawing production inspiration from dissonant frequencies. It is set to be released in 2025.
