samxemma Announces New EP “Hot People Make Hot Music”, Shares New Song “GOSSIP GIRL”
Manchester-based electropop duo samxemma, consisting of Sam Cooper and Emma Kirsch, has announced their upcoming sophomore EP “Hot People Make Hot Music” will be released on August 21, 2025.
The EP is their first project in two years since the 2023 EP “Athens”. Also, it is the first released under their new label September Records.
From the EP, the duo released a new song “GOSSIP GIRL” on July 10, 2025.
The song is accompanied by the Morgan Ambler-directed music video.
It was written by Emma Kirsch, and Sam Cooper, who also produced the track.
Emma Kirsch said of the song, “GOSSIP GIRL is a song about my love of talking shit about people who've treated me like shit.”- She continued, “It's a track about knowing too much, saying too much, and loving it anyway. 'GOSSIP GIRL' is a representation of girlhood in the summer. It's about the irony of miscommunication: instead of confronting the person you should be talking to, you end up whispering about them behind their back. I wanted the song to feel innocent because, at the end of the day, I love gossip, and I love my friends. Thank you to my friend who told me about my other friend's infidelity, and thank you to the cheaters for inspiring this song.”
