  • mgk Performs “vampire diaries” & Gorillaz's “Feel Good Inc” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

  • American rapper and singer-songwriter mgk (Machine Gun Kelly) appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform “vampire diaries” and a cover of British virtual band Gorillaz's “Feel Good Inc”.

This marks his second appearance on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge since 2017.
“vampire diaries” was released as the second from his seventh studio album “Lost Americana”, which was released back in August.
The track was written by Colson Baker. Produced by SlimXXBazeXX, Travis Barker, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child.
The music video for the song paid homage to Michael Jackson's legendary performance of “Dangerous” at the 1995 MTV Music Awards.
“Feel Good Inc” was released by Gorillaz, featuring American hip-hop group De La Soul, in 2005.
The song reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Also the track won Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards in 2006.
  • mgk explained why he chose the song to perform on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, “I'll be doing 'Feel Good Inc' by the gorillas. This was peak childhood for me, sitting in my room watching this music video. This music video really changed my life. It was watching these in studio, Studio Ghibli movies were like peak imagination, man, and imagination is really the only reason why I've got this far in my career and been relevant this long, because I just keep the innocence of creativity and not letting the outside opinions affect me.”

  • He told BBC about his albums, “I'm not the biggest fan of like, earlier albums. I love my early mixtapes, but I think just a different pressure was on me when I first got in the game. And I think I was just in a darker headspace. So I like to me my later albums are my favorite. So pressures us off. I think you know, more opportunities are open up.”
