  • Charlie Pittman Releases New Song “death row”

  • Australian singer-songwriter Charlie Pittman released a new song “death row” on August 27, 2025.

The song is the third single off of his upcoming sophomore EP “okay. again?”, following “think later” and “the comedown”.
The EP is set to be released on September 19, 2025.
The track was written by Charlie Pittman, Francesca Morris, and Itamar Lapidot. Produced by Jonathan Class.
The accompanying music video was directed by Oliver James.

Charlie Pittman said of the song, “death row was the first song I wrote for this project before I knew how the songs would all piece together. It begins the narrative of the EP which is at the end of one relationship before the EP takes us through a journey of a relationship cycle. death row is about that feeling where you know a relationship is coming to an end, but the conversation hasn’t been had. There’s an element of guilt about keeping feelings to yourself and the feeling that break ups would be easier if someone cheated rather than two people just drifting away or losing feelings. The metaphor of death row felt like a powerful image with me being painted as the executioner.”
  • The new EP comprises 6 tracks, on which Charlie Pittman recorded with producer Jonathan Class in Nashville.
It is his first project in a year since the 2024 debut EP “nothing is forever”

Charlie Pittman said of the EP, “The whole EP is a cyclical thing. There’s the same motif at the start and the end, so when it ends, you’ll hear it loop back to the first song. It’s like the cycle of relationships, so with the title I wanted that double meaning. It’s like, you’re OK again, but also, OK, I’m really gonna go through this whole thing again? The whole EP is relationship focused, which is different to what I’ve done before. A lot of my other songs I take from different parts of my life, but these are about the arc from one relationship ending to another one beginning.”
