  • Gatlin Releases New Song “Soho House Valet”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Gatlin released a new song “Soho House Valet” on September 10, 2025.

The song is the final pre-single from her upcoming debut album “The Eldest Daughter”, which is set to be released on October 3, 2025 via Dualtone Records.
The piano-driven ballad paints an intimate portrait of familial strife, as the Florida-born Gatlin unravels the layered complexity of eldest-daughterhood, while also reflecting on her experiences coming out in the conservative and religious community where she was raised.
The track was written by Gatlin Thornton, James Bairian, and Louis Castle. Produced by Gatlin Thornton, Gabe Wax, and The Gifted.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jacq Justice.

Gatlin said of the song, “I wrote Soho House Valet after my parents had come to visit my sister and I in Los Angeles and my father and I got in a fight right outside of the Soho House in Downtown LA. It was one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever written. As the eldest daughter, I’ve always felt like I had to be strong and never burden anyone...but digging through stuff I never expected to share and then sharing this song anyway started a healing process.”
  • She shared on social media, “I wrote about two years ago when I was in a very different place. my mental health was the worst it had ever been & I felt the most alone I ever have in my life. Everything felt like it was falling apart from every area in my life. I take this as a reminder (and want to tell u through the internet... as a reminder) that things change. Circumstances get better & feelings are temporary. I am loved. You are loved. Things get better.”

  • The debut album comprises 10 tracks, including collaborations with producer Jennifer Decilveo, singer-songwriter British-Cambodian singer-songwriter Liza Owen, and London-based indie rock duo Tommy Lefroy's Tessa Mouzourakis. Gatlin has produced or co-produced most of the tracks herself.
The album showcases her sharp wit and raw storytelling as she unpacks her experiences with queerness, mental health, gender roles and family tension. It is an unflinching confrontation of her past and beautiful reclamation of self.

Gatlin said of the album, “This record is me exploring distance and perspective from my past, of owning the good and the bad and how they both informed the way I've made my own life. I know now who I am, where I'm from, and where I'm going.”
