British singer-songwriter Tom Odell appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform his latest song “Don't Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder” and a cover of American singer-songwriter sombr's “undressed”.
This marks his first appearance as a musical guest on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge in nine years, since 2016.
“Don't Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder” was featured on his seventh studio album “A Wonderful Life”, which was released on September 5, 2025 via UROK.
The track was written by Laurie Blundell, Max Clilverd, and Tom Odell. Produced by Tom Odell and Cityfall.
“undressed” was released by sombr from his debut studio album “I Barely Know Her” back in March.
The song reached No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart.- Tom Odell said of sombr, “Me and somber have had like, a like, we messaged each other like, maybe a year ago. Expressing interest in one another. And I really fond of his music. And it's always amazing when you're really fond of someone's music, and then they tell you that they also like your music. And it's like, I don't know, it's really nice. So I'm super like, I don't know, I'm really kind of into his songwriting, and I like his whole vibe. It seems really cool. And this song is amazing. It's really great to kind of unpick it and learn it.”
