Sydney Minsky Sargeant Premieres New Song “Summer Song” on BBC Radio 6
Manchester-based post-punk band Working Men's Club's frontman and singer-songwriter Sydney Minsky Sargeant premiered a new song “Summer Song” on BBC Radio Music with Lauren Laverne.
The song is the third single off of his upcoming debut solo album “Lunga”, which is set to be released on on September 12, 2025 via Domino Recording, following “Long Roads” and “I Don’t Wanna”.
The track was written and produced by Sydney Minsky Sargeant, with production by Alex Greaves.
Sydney Minsky Sargeant said of the song, “It evokes the longing to be taken away from my self and the habits I once had of thinking in certain ways that felt unavoidable.”- The debut solo album comprises 12 tracks, produced by Sydney Minsky Sargeant and Alex Greaves. Sydney Minsky Sargeant plays most of the instruments on the record.
Sydney Minsky Sargeant said of the album, “I’m trying to wear my heart-on-my-sleeve a bit more, these songs come from a search for meaning and understanding. I’m always trying to unpick myself and those around me, the ones I love and loved the most. There were thoughts and feelings that these songs helped me express, address and make sense of.” -
