La Nouvelle Musique Releases New Song “The Mirror”
London-based psych-folk duo La Nouvelle Musique, consisting of Joanna Beck (vocals/bass/piano) and Ian de Silva (guitar/vocals), will release their debut self-titled album on August 1, 2025 via Fruits de Mer Records. The vinyl of the album will be released on June 30, 2025.
From the album, the duo released the second and final pre-release single “The Mirror” on June 27, 2025.
On the track, strings weave around delicate acoustic picking and soft piano.
It was written by Ian De Zilwa and produced by La Nouvelle Musique.
The album comprises 11 tracks, which were recorded and produced at Berwick Street Studios in Soho, London.- Joanna Beck said of the album, “The overall theme of the album is literally the movement of time and how ten minutes can seem like an hour or just a matter of seconds. It also touches on how life experiences are subjective and unique to everyone. Many of the songs were written after watching the Jim Jarmusch film 'Down By Law', with melodies we imagined could work well over the closing credits to that movie.”
