Au/Ra Releases New Song “CRACK!”
German singer-songwriter Au/Ra released her brand new song “CRACK!” On July 11, 2025.
The song is the third single of 2025, following “MOONBEANS” with Alissic and “BLAH”.
Au/Ra wrote the song with K.Flay and producer Halo Boy in Los Angeles during personal darkness.
The track reflects the strange digital life, being constantly connected yet deeply detached.
The accompanying music video was directed by Andy Mihov.
Au/Ra said of the song, “I wrote CRACK! When I was in a dark place. It’s about using the online world as a metaphor for depression - feeling connected but disconnected, numb but still performing like everything’s fine. It reflects the strange normalcy of the digital life we’re in now, where everything feels pixelated and sedated, knowing it’s slowly draining you, and the want to break out of it. But escapism over facing reality always catches up with you.”- She shared on social media, “A song I wrote about hyper normalization on the internet + disassociating because of it. What it feels like to be experiencing hyper normalization in an age of constant social media input. Wanna that the algorithm every time? I wrote this song about trying to break out of the contact feeling that you're being controlled by it, as I'm being controlled by it, oh the irony.”
