Magdalena Bay Returns With Two New Songs “Second Sleep” & “Star Eyes”
Los Angeles-based synth-pop duo Magdalena Bay, consisting of Mica Tenenbaum (singer/songwriter) and Matthew Lewin (songwriter/producer), returned with two new songs “Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes” on September 26, 2025.
Two songs are their first music in a year since their sophomore album “Imaginal Disk”, which was released last August.
Originally, two songs were recorded for their sophomore album but were not included. This time, the band liked the two songs and officially released them.
Both songs were written and produced by Matthew Lewin, and Mica Tenenbaum.
The music video for “Second Sleep” was directed by Amalia Irons.
The band said of two songs, “'Second Sleep' and 'Star Eyes' are two songs we made around the end of Imaginal Disk--both a sort of spiritual successor to the album's mood and emotional arc. We like how they complement each other, so here they are as a pair.”- Before the releases of the song, the band revealed they are working on a full movie for “Imaginal Disk”.
The band said of the video, “One year of Imaginal Disk- thank you for making our wildest dreams a reality. On this day, the anniversary of the record, we'd like to formally announce and acknowledge the existence of a full album movie. Surely our most ambitious undertaking thus far, this thing will be done at some point... soon... and we will share more information imminently. Thank you for your patience. More soon.” -
