  • The Temper Trap Releases New Song “Giving Up Air”

  • Last Month, Australian indie-rock band The Temper Trap, consisting of Dougy Mandagi (vocals/guitar), Toby Dundas (drums), Jonathon Aherne (bass) and Joseph Greer (guitar/keyboards), was back, and released their comeback single “Lucky Dimes” for the first time in in 9 years.

Following “Lucky Dimes”, the band released a new song “Giving Up Air” on September 26, 2025.
The track pairs synth-driven production with lyrics reflecting on the weight of grief, unlike the previous song.
It was written by Dougy Mandagi and Jono Ma. Produced by Styalz Fuego.
The accompanying lyric video was directed by Charles Buxton-Leslie.

The band frontman Dougy Mandagi said of the song, “‘Giving Up Air’ is a very important song for me about a life-changing moment and the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one in tragic circumstances -from the initial shock to sorrow and then anger, and finding glimmers of hope somewhere in between.”
  • He continued, “Some of you may recognise it. It was written for my solo project Bloodmoon but the boys and I started working on it as The Temper Trap and it felt magical, like it had found its true home. Thank you for all your support so far, it means the world to us, and reminds us why we continue to make music.”
