Of Monsters and Men Releases Two New Songs “Dream Team” & “The Towering Skyscraper at the End of the Road”
Icelandic indie folk-rock band Of Monsters and Men, consisting of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (vocals/guitar), Ragnar Þórhallsson (vocals/guitars), Brynjar Leifsson (lead guitar), Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass) and Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums), released two new songs “Dream Team” and “The Towering Skyscraper at the End of the Road” on September 5, 2025.
Two songs are taken from their upcoming fourth studio album “All is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade”, which is set to be released on October 17, 2025.
“Dream Team” explores the push and pull of vulnerability and self-preservation while fusing raw lyricism with carefree energy in their signature blend of atmosphere and nostalgia.
The song will appear on the upcoming film “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” directed by Kogonada, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. The film is scheduled to be released on September 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, “The Towering Skyscraper at the End of the Road” is an introspective song, confronting the lingering ache of memory and revealing how joy and heartbreak are inseparable.- The band said of the songs, “'Dream Team' is built on a piano part that our drummer, Arnar, played for us. It instantly gave us this carefree, nostalgic feeling. It feels like bouncing through town without a care in the world. The lyrics paint a different picture: It’s an inner dialog of someone going through ranges of emotions. Bouncing from one feeling to another. Feeling extremely happy and confident while also feeling this immense sadness and dread. 'The Towering Skyscraper at the End of the Road' is about growing up and growing apart, it’s a song that looks at the past with kind eyes.”
They continued, “So much of this album are stories of duality and how love and pain, even though they seem at odds with each other, are so often intertwined. We wanted to highlight that by bringing you these two songs today.. but also we are just feeling like impatient kids and we wanted to share more of the album with you..” -
The new album comprises 13 tracks, produced by Of Monsters and Men. It marks their first album in six years since the 2019 album “Fever Dream”.
The band said of the album, “This album is a collection of stories and moments. Like little windows into our lives. We wanted the artwork to reflect that, almost like a family quilt: capturing not just these stories, but also the journey of making these songs. Each card represents a song, and together they form a circular story, one without a clear beginning or ending.”
