Gryffin Teams Up with Lavern & AR/CO for New Song “Higher Power”
American DJ Gryffin teamed up with Dutch DJ Lavern and British-Australian electronic duo AR/CO to release a new song “Higher Power” on July 25, 2025.
This marks the first time Gryffin, Lavern and AR/CO have worked together. But Lavern supported Gryffin's Pulse Phase 2 Tour this year.
Gryffin and Lavern first performed the song in Boston this month before their show in front of just 20 people.
The track features a nostalgic sound with empowering lyricism and a kinetic rhythm.
It was written by Daniel Griffith, Giacomo Uber, Laurens Elshof, Leo Stannard, and Mali-Koa Hood. Produced by Gryffin and Lavern.
Gryffin said of the song, “This one feels special to me. The minute I heard AR/CO’s euphoric vocal it gave me immediate chills and brought me back to my earlier days of making music while living in New York City. Working with my great friend Lavern, I tapped back into those feelings of nostalgia of running around the city with my friends and making lifelong memories. My hope is that this song can be the soundtrack to some memories of your own.”- Gryffin said, “Higher Power' is a new take/sound for me that feels so authentically GRYFFIN. I can’t decide if it’s AR/CO’s amazing vocals that feel so representative of my history of songs or if the melodic and raw production just unintentionally became what I didn’t know would be a 2025 song of mine. This record and new friendship with LAVERN surprised me which as an artist is one of the most exciting things that can happen. Feels like the summer banger I needed but never planned for.”
Lavern said, “I got to know GRYFFIN after I did a couple of shows with him in the US and we connected on a musical level. We jumped into the studio together not long after and it just clicked. Releasing a track with someone like GRYFFIN is special for me and I’m really proud of the end result. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this one!”
