Sydney Rose Premieres New Song “I Stopped Trying” featuring Delaney Bailey on BBC Radio 1
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sydney Rose premiered a new song “I Stopped Trying” on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The song is the follow-up to “Before & After You”, which was released back in July.
On the track, she teamed up with Chicago-based singer-songwriter Delaney Bailey.
This marks the first collaboration between Sydney Rose and Delaney Bailey.
She co-wrote the song with American singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan. Produced by Jon Class.
The song was inspired by “Thank You For Trying”, which was featured on her fourth EP “I Know What I Want” released in April 2025.
Sydney Rose told Sian Eleri about the song, “For me, I thought it was pretty easy to put my thoughts down to the song. Because it's something that I'm very much feeling at the moment about just like relationships in general, and trying to get into relationships I've never been in one, and sometimes it feels like the world doesn't want me in one. And so I took inspiration from one of my other songs called 'Thank You For Trying', and then just wrote this song. Basically, just having a terrible day, and then I was like, it's a great opportunity for me to at least make a little bit of money.”- She continued, “It was very much a one day thing. I came in with the idea to Sasha Sloan. And we immediately wrote the song in like two hours. And it felt so genuine and real, and it was like I just felt like I needed the song out, like at that moment immediately. Because it was exactly how I felt.”
She said of the collaboration with Delaney Bailey, “We've been friends on Tiktok for a very long time. The fact that we haven't collaborated till now is kind of crazy. But I feel like we very much have the same like audience of people and very much the same voice. And so it felt very right to have her on this song.” -
