Gina Zo Releases New Song “I Need To Cry”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Gina Zo released a new song “I Need To Cry” on July 23, 2025.
For Gina Zo, the song is the third single, following “Only Bad Men Make Me Feel This Way” and “Dirty Habits”.
Also, it is Gina Zo’s second Pride anthem since coming out in 2023.
The track is a synth-soaked summer tune about finding your people, embracing who you are, and letting the emotions flow.
It was written by Gina Zo, Tim Sonnefeld, and Justin Miller. Produced by Tim Sonnefeld and Justin Miller.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jordan Fox.
Gina Zo said of the song, “I Need To Cry is my anthem of self-discovery and self-love. The funny thing about it is that, although it is called ‘I Need To Cry,’ it is really about that feeling of needing to cry not only in sad times, but also in happy times, exciting times, and shocking times. This song is a reminder that you can be on your own journey to discovering yourself at all moments in your life. We think we have to have it “all figured out by x age”, but the reality is you’re always pushing forward to finding a better you.”- She continued, “I remember being in high school and college and slowly gathering the group of people that I knew meant the most to me. But honestly, it wasn’t until I graduated and propelled myself into the real world that I started to learn and find what was meant for me. The journey lasts a lifetime and I don’t think it will ever feel completed.”
She added, “In 2023 I came out as bisexual and since that moment, I have been on a journey to discover who my people are, what my calling is, and when I’ll find my true love.
