The album is their first LP in two years since the 2023 album “The Album” and is celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band.
It is a return to the brothers' New Jersey roots and early sonic influences while growing up.
The record was carefully crafted using songs written across different periods of the past six to seven years.
The album comprises 14 tracks (deluxe edition 16 tracks), featuring collaborations with Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis, American rock band Switchfoot and American DJ Marshmello.
Produced by Dean Lewis, Marshmello, Ryan Daly, Cook Classics, Jordan Riley, Joshua Murty, Julian Bunetta, Gabe Simon, Mark Schick, Nolan Sipe, Colin Foote, Alex Borel, Alexander 23, Hazey Eyes, Tommy English, Jeremy Hatcher, Josette Maskin, the Monsters & Strangerz, Ryan Tedder, Jason Evigan, Mike Elizondo, Digital Farm Animals, Connor McDonough, and Earwulf.
Jonas Brothers said, “We went back to our hometown in New Jersey to shoot the cover for this album. We walked the streets we grew up on, visited the exact places where we sat while dreaming up what this band could be and felt that deep pull of where it all began. There's something about being home that reminds you who you are. This album is filled with pieces of that, lifelong influences from our childhood and the sounds that we grew up on.”- The band said of their 20th anniversary in a statement, “As a family, we have been reflecting a lot lately... It's been 20 years since we started this journey together. To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our family mini-van with a couple of guitars and copies of It's About Time CDs, en route to an afternoon performance at a local mall to play for anyone who would listen. We were chasing our dream to play music and connect with others in a deep way that only music can provide. We were teenagers then... actually, Nick wasn't even old enough to get into a PG-13 movie.
They continued, “In the years that followed, you've given us a thousand lifetimes of incredible memories. We wake up each day filled with gratitude that you've been on this 20-year journey with us. Together, we have celebrated wins, made mistakes, overcome obstacles, and grieved losses. Put simply: we've all grown up together. It's seemingly impossible to put our appreciation into words. None of this would have been possible without you. You've shown up for us. Rooted for us. Encouraged us. And inspired us. We treasure our connection with you as much today as we did when we played our first show. We are celebrating this wild 20-year journey by doing what we love.” -
The band explained some tracks for the album.
“I Can't Lose”
“Cancer has impacted so many people all over the world. Teaming up with Mastercard to uplift fans who've found hope and healing in our music means so much to us. 'I Can't Lose' is a song we hope can carry different meanings for everyone who hears it and, for those who need it, a reminder of their own strength.
It's the newest single from our upcoming album Greetings From Your Hometown. This song hits deep for us, we hope it carries on different meanings for everyone who hears it, and for those who need it, a reminder of their own strength.”
“No Time To Talk”
“Growing up on the music that our Dad played for us led to a lifelong influence from the legends that came before us. That influence was undeniably felt while writing what is now “No Time To Talk” and putting it out into the world today with The Bee Gees blessing feels unreal. We hope you have as much fun with this one as we had making it !! Time to danceeee.”
“Loved You Better” with Dean Lewis
Dean Lewis said, “Incredible last 24 hours releasing a song with the Jonas Brothers in NYC. They are quite literally the nicest people I've ever met, and somehow so down to earth?! I'm so proud of this song, Joe DM'd me, I had this song idea that I really liked. I sent it to him, and we all worked on it together it made it special. When I got their vocals back I had goosebumps.”
“Greetings From Your Hometown” with Switchfoot
“Our musical journey really began up and down these streets here in New Jersey with our dad playing us. Our dad playing us all of his favorite music, Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, Carole King, The Beatles. I heard Kevin and Joe's playing and singing this song for the first time ever together. It was called 'Twenty-Four' by the band Switchfoot, and they sounded incredible. And the song was so inspiring to all of us in the album, 'The Beautiful Letdown' changed our lives truly. And I walked next door and I said, Hey guys, I was 11 or 12 at the time. I said, Hey guys, you guys want to write a song together? First song we ever wrote together, it's because this band made that album and wrote this song 'Twenty-Four'. And so two days ago, we we released our new album. It's called 'Greetings From Your Hometown', and as we were making the record, it really kind of summarized our journey as family and as a band, both musically and our roots here in New Jersey, our story. And Joe had the great idea. Joe, the great idea. What was it?
Well, Nick, great idea of being able to have these guys a part of that album, hungry from your hometown.”
“Slow Motion” with Marshmello
Marshmello said, “Decided to start a band named Underbrook with some of my best friends. We love the original but we wanted to put our spin on it. Hope you all enjoy.”
