The Barr Brothers Releases New Song “Run Right Into It” featuring Land of Talk
Montreal-based folk-rock band The Barr Brothers, consisting of Andrew Barr (drums/vocals) and Brad Barr (guitar/vocals), teamed up with Canadian indie rock band Land of Talk to release a new song “Run Right Into It” on July 23, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between The Barr Brothers and Land of Talk.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming fourth studio album “Let it Hiss”, which is set to be released on October 17, 2025.
It was written by Patrick Watson and Philip Bradford Barr. Produced by The Barr Brothers.
The accompanying music visualizer was directed by Brigitte Henry, who is the band guitarist Brad Barr's wife.
Featuring the silhouettes of Brad Barr and Land Of Talk's Elizabeth Powell amidst a backdrop of the open road, the video is an homage to the power of two voices singing together, needing each other, and a joyful expression of transformation as we are propelled through life, turning difficulties into growth.- The band said of the song, “Run Right Into It was born out of a need to hit some life issues head on. It's a song about that turning point - the moment we stop dodging, deflecting, or running from the things that haunt us. It aims to capture the momentum that hits when we realize the only way out is through. The song builds toward a hard-won sense of resolve, channeling the weight of avoidance into something braver: confrontation, acceptance, and ultimately, freedom. It's a song about facing what scares us, not because we're fearless-but because we're finally ready.”
They added, “'Run Right Into It' is the musical equivalent of a '74 Camaro in a high speed police chase barrelling towards the Great Wall of China. It's the release that comes after smashing into the thing we're running away from, or towards, and finding the expansive open road beyond. It is lyrical and audio propulsion. The parallel voices of Brad Barr and Land of Talk's Elizabeth Powell are locked together like pistons. The feel is immediate, the guitar riff is hypnotic and it's one of the most drivable songs since Golden Earring's 'Radar Love'.” -
The new album comprises 10 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Land of Talk, Klô Pelgag, La Force, Jim James and Arc Iris.
It is their first album in eight years since the 2017 album “Queens of the Breakers”.
The band said of the album, “It's hard to find words to express what this new record means to us, and how eager and ecstatic we are to share it with you! For now, let us just say that this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our career. We know it's been a while since our last album, but we promise...it's worth the wait! We've never made a record quite like this one. We had some amazing friends help us get the job done. Recorded and produced by the two of us, mixed by the great Jon Low, with cover art by the ever-inventive Brigitte Henry, this is the record we've been wanting to make for a long time.”
