JP Cooper Releases New Song “Summer Of Love”
British singer-songwriter JP Cooper released a new song “Summer Of Love” on August 22, 2025.
The song is his second own music of 2025, following “Talking To Strangers” released back in January.
As the single, it follows a cover of British rock band Katrina and the Waves' “Walking on Sunshine”.
He wrote the song with Mr Hudson and Johnny Simpson in the US. Produced by Blackwood.
The track features Amadu Koroma on bass, Josh Domfeh on keyboards, Mike Patrick on keyboards, Stephen Barlow on guitar and pedal steel, and Duayne Sanford on drums.
JP Cooper said of the song, “Summer of love was a late addition to the album.. I was in the States and had written the chords and a part of the melody in my hotel room. It instantly felt so soothing. I played the progression over and over for hours.. it made me think of summer, picnic blankets and golden skies. The next day I got together with Mr Hudson and Johnny Simpson and brain stormed a bunch of images that put me in that place. The song came together really easily after that.”- He continued, “My favourite part of the process was coming home and getting the band into the studio.. it was one of the most enjoyable sessions I've had in a while. We captured what is probably now one of my favourite moments from the record.. im excited to get it out while there's still a little summer left.
