Leah Kate Releases Two New Songs “Meltdown” & “ill”
American singer-songwriter Leah Kate will release her upcoming sophomore album “Genius” on November 7, 2025.
She plans to release the album in three parts, with two songs in each part, ahead of the full album.
The album comprises 13 tracks and marks her first album in two years since the 2023 album “Super Over”.
Leah Kate said of the album, “Think of Genius as a dissertation on my own bad decisions, every meltdown, every wrong turn, tied together with eyeliner and a wink. Stupid? Absolutely. But I'm still calling it genius.”
She continued, “So I may have written an irresponsible amount of songs. An instead of giving you them one at time, I am just too excited about them. So, I'm going to give you more, I'm rolling out my album, Genius, in 3 Acts, two songs at time. Every chapter get messier until the full album drops Nov 7.”
On September 5, she released “Act I: It Doesn't Take A Genius (To Ruin Everything)”, including two new songs “Meltdown” and “ill”.
Two songs were written by Casey Smith, Leah Kate, Zach Skelton. “Meltdown” was produced by Andrew Goldstein and Zach Skelton.
“ill” was produced by Zach Skelton.- Leah Kate said of the singles, “I'm releasing the album in Acts because I wanted the rollout to feel like a movie, each chapter taking you deeper into the story. 'Act I: It Doesn't Take a Genius (To Ruin Everything)' sets the stage with 'Meltdown' and 'ill,' two songs that capture the unraveling, the chaos, and what it feels like to be completely going through it. It's more than just singles dropping; it's the beginning of a full journey we'll go through together.”
