Sarina Announces New EP “The Fool”, Shares New Song “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)”
Tokyo-based pop-punk singer-songwriter Sarina has announced her upcoming EP “The Fool” will be released on September 12, 2025.
The EP is her first project in almost a year since the 2024 EP “Break Out!!”.
From the EP, she unveiled the first single "If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)" on August 8, 2025.
The song outlines the remorseful, contrite feelings that many women experience, particularly in relationships.
It was written by Written by Sarina and produced by Kevin Thrasher.
She has already filmed a music video, which will premiere on August 20, 2025.- Sarina said of the song, “'If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)' is about an experience so many women have, especially in relationships, where we are made to feel like everything is ours to take responsibility for. No matter the issue, we feel like we have to apologize regardless of who was in the wrong. We reassure and apologize despite being the ones hurt.”
She added, “The song is a surrender just as much as it is a battle cry. In the same breath, I embrace my role as villain in your story, I question whether or not I'm the villain in my own story.” -
