Ruston Kelly Releases New Song “Waiting to Love You”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly released a new song “Waiting to Love You” on August 15, 2025.
The song is the fourth and final pre-release single from his upcoming fourth studio album “Pale, Through the Window”, following “Pickleball”, “Wayside”, and “Half Past Three”.
The album is set to be released on September 12, 2025 via Rounder Records.
Originally, the song was written in 2016 with longtime collaborator Jarrad K and songwriter Jon Green, and was long-shelved.
This time, he reimagined and recorded it for the album. Produced by Jarrad K.
The accompanying music video was directed by Stephen Kinigopoulos.
Ruston Kelly said of the song, “Jarrad, Jon, and I originally wrote this song to pitch to other artists, but at the time, the sentiment wasn’t something I resonated with. Fast forward to today—we’re listening to the resurfaced demo, and I’m sitting next to the woman I wrote much of this album for, realizing immediately that this was the missing song that tied it all together. A kind of capstone statement I’d never made lyrically before.”- He said of the video, “This is the most wholesome video I’ve ever done in my life. Trying to weave and marry the mid century with actual modern taste + post emo undertones on this whole album has been such a fun world to build. And since this song was bang-fw exploratory territory sonically, it wouldn’t have happened without Stephen Kinigopoulos directing it.”

The new album comprises 13 tracks, produced by Jarrad K. It is his first album in two years since the 2023 album “The Weakness”.
Ruston Kelly said of the album, “This album feels like a return to the truest, purest, most complete version of who I am as an artist and a human being. I wanted to write about joy in a way that was still honest and complicated, because that's what real joy is-it carries everything that came before it.”
