  • Metrik Premieres New Song “Hole” featuring Rou Reynolds & Filthy Pig on BBC Radio 1

  • London-based electronic music producer Metrik premiered a new song “Hole” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

On the track, he teamed up with British rock band St Albans' lead singer Rou Reynolds and Brighton-based DJ Filthy Pig.
The song will appear on his upcoming fourth studio album “ΛWΛKE”, which is set to be released on November 13, 2025.
It was written by Nicholas Schneider, Olivia Charlotte Brooking, Rou Reynolds, and Tom Mundell, who also produced the track.

Metrik told Jack Saunders about the song, “I've always been a massive fan of Rou from long back. And for me as an artist, I've been really trying to, like, bridge the gap between metal and drum and bass. It was amazing. Because, the track started off, so I make a shout out to Filthy Pig, who I wrote the track with, which is quite a personal vocal for me on the verse. And Rou has just taken it to a whole new level, which I couldn't even imagine. And he's just broadened it to kind of like, almost like a more generational level, it's like an existential malaise kind of vibe.”
  • Rou Reynolds added, “That's our end game. That's our main goal. That's, yeah, bringing all those kind of different flavors in has been something. First of all, just like the melody, the vocal at the start is just beautiful, and then it just takes you into a beast of a track. It's that classic thing, I think, where I think everyone can relate to, like the metaphor of the whole and like being sucked in in this modern world.”

  • The new album comprises 12 tracks, featuring guest appearances from ÆON:MODE, ou Reynolds, Filthy Pig, and Grafix.
It is his first album in five years since the 2020 album “Ex Machina”.

Metrik said of the album, “So, I guess on that note, I've taken a little bit time away just to really sort of hone and finesse the album, of course. But also, this body of work for me represents, like, a much more raw and personal direction in my music. So, it feels like a new chapter for me going forward. And I'd say whole really embodies that.”
