Matteo Bocelli & Gianluca Grignani Team Up for New Version of “Mi Historia Entre Tus Dedos”
Italian singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli joined forces with Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist Gianluca Grignani to release a new version of “Mi Historia Entre Tus Dedos” on August 8, 2025.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming sophomore album “Falling In Love”, which is set to be released on September 12, 2025 via Decca Records.
The original version of the song was released by Gianluca Grignani in 1995. The song has often been covered by other artists, but none of the versions have featured a duet with Gianluca Grignani until now.
This time, Matteo Bocelli reached out to Gianluca Grignani earlier this year to personally request permission to record a cover of the song.
The track was written by Gianluca Grignani, I. Ballesteros, and M. Luca. The new version was produced by Martin Terefe.
The accompanying music video was directed by Gaetano Morbioli.- Matteo Bocelli said of the song, “I have a vivid memory from my childhood of singing “La mia storia tra le dita” at the top of my lungs, a song that came out two years before I was born... yet it was so successful that it captured the hearts of generations to come. It’s one of the few Italian songs that found success abroad, so much so that last year, during my first South American tour, I performed it live and thought, 'Why not record a version for my new album?' So, I recorded it and sent it to the song’s author for approval... not only was he thrilled with my version, but he loved it so much that he wanted to record it with me. This is a dream come true, and I already carry the beautiful memory of singing it with him on the stage of the Teatro del Silenzio.”

Gianluca Grignani said, “This kid has a truth in his voice. A talent that can't be taught. When he wrote to tell me he wanted to record one of my songs, I smiled. And when he invited me to go on stage with him, at the Teatro del Silenzio, to sing it together... Well, there I couldn't say no. I would never have shown myself before the release of my new record. But this...this is one of those exceptions that brings you back to why you make music.”
