Ruston Kelly Releases New Song “Pickleball”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly released a new song “Pickleball” on July 11, 2025.
The song is the third single off of his upcoming fourth studio album “Pale, Through the Window”, following “Wayside” and “Half Past Three”.
The album is set to be released on September 12, 2025 via Rounder Records.
The track was written by Ruston Kelly, and Jarrad K, who also produced it.
Also, the track features his sister Abigail Kelly on background vocals, his dad Tim Kelly on steel guitar, John Chong on drums, and Calvin Knowle on bass.
Ruston Kelly said of the song, “Our first date was at the pickleball court on the east side at the YMCA. I knew she was special the moment we started talking. It's like I always knew her. And of course at the time, I was still sorting out my life and my faith... I shared with her my trials and my twisted roots, and her response was life changing. She drew a line in the sand in a way that motivated me to be the best version of myself-not make me feel small for the choices I'd made in my past. And for that, I was like, 'I wanna be wherever you are. I feel whole and inspired and will go wherever that goodness with you leads.'”- The new album comprises 13 tracks and captures a season of radical change and quiet revelations for Ruston Kelly.
It is his first album in two years since the 2023 album “The Weakness”.
Written during a period of spiritual searching and recorded after what Ruston Kelly describes as a creative low point, the album is a return to form.
Ruston Kelly said of the album, “This album feels like a return to the truest, purest, most complete version of who I am as an artist and a human being. I wanted to write about joy in a way that was still honest and complicated, because that's what real joy is-it carries everything that came before it.” -
