Black Sands Releases New Song “Rock Me”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer Andrew Balfour's musical project Black Sands released a new song “Rock Me” on October 3, 2025.
The song is a cinematic portrait of youth—messy, thrilling, and relatable. It captures what it feels like to be alive, stumbling, spinning, kissing like you mean it, and not caring if tomorrow ever comes.
It was written by Andrew Balfour, Brandon Chase, Davide Russo, and Ryan Lawrie. Produced by Andrew Balfour and Davide Russo.
The song is the follow-up to “Making Memories”, which was released back in August. Both songs will appear on their upcoming album.
Andrew Balfour said of the song, “‘Rock Me’ is one of those rare songs that seemed to arrive fully formed. From the first guitar chord to the steady, driving kick drum, the track came together with a raw energy and sense of urgency. Where some songs take painstaking effort to craft note by note, ‘Rock Me’ poured out effortlessly, every chord change, every lead, every layer landing exactly where it needed to.”- He continued, “At its core, ‘Rock Me’ is a song of duality, capturing the tension between wanting to be sprightly and free, yet still yearning for something real, brought to life through Lawrie’s pictorial lyrics and vibrant, expressive voice.”
He added, “This one’s pure energy - a song that poured out in the moment and felt right every step of the way. Grateful for the amazing collaborators who brought it to life.” -
