  • King Princess Releases New Album “Girl Violence”

  • Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter King Princess released her third studio album “Girl Violence” on September 12, 2025 via section1.

The record is the first release after moving back to New York from Los Angeles.
The album comprises 13 tracks, which King Princess recorded with producers Jacob Portrait and Aire Atlantica (Joe Pincus) at her father's recording studio in Brooklyn, featuring a guest appearance from British post-punk band IDLES' Joe Talbot.
They crafted a sound steeped in late '90s electronica and reverb-heavy rock.

King Princess said of the album, “Girl violence is very sneaky. It's not physical, it's deeply emotional, spiritual, and spooky. Women are both amazing and sinister-including myself-and it's my curiosity to understand all the love, loss, and changes that come out of my love for women. Why are we so inclined to cause and receive chaos? If you've experienced even an iota of it, then you'll have a story to tell. And these are mine.”
  • She continued, “I made this record without a record label, like, I just made it in Brooklyn with Jacob Portrait and Aire Atlantica, and we kind of were a three man band. And it was, honestly so wonderful, I mean, because there was nobody over my shoulder. And I just kind of sat in the studio and just enjoyed myself and made a record. The way a record is meant to be made, which is with your friends and in a studio that you love. So I feel like there you can hear in the record that I'm like, back in my home city, that I'm contemplative but confident.”

She added, “I think as much as I am the protagonist. I am also the villain of this record. I think that the most interesting thing about 'Girl Violence' is like, as much as you are the victim of it, you're also the perpetrator. Like, hurt people vibe.”

  • King Princess explained some tracks for the album.

    “Jaime”
“I think everyone has a Jaime in their life that they're desperate to get the validation from, and they'll never give it to you. that's what you need to know. I have so many Jaimes. It's not even funny. I have hundreds the idea. And I think what was so great about writing this song is to personify this character of like, just somebody who just really doesn't get you or want to see win it all. And give her a name, and this is pulled from so many different little snippets in my life of feeling just like, really let down. So I was like, let's put it all together and, like, create this mega lady.”

    “Cry Cry Cry”
“I feel like, I've been really excited to release this song. I've been kind of teasing it and posting about it on Discord for a while, for like, two years. And this is the, probably the first song I wrote on this album, but it was from a different. It was I written it a while ago, and it just fit perfectly into the narrative of this record of 'Girl Violence'. And I'm stoked that it's coming out. I remember being in the studio with my bass player, Logan and Nick Long, who I've been writing with since I was 16 years old. And he was playing that guitar part, and he's such a good guitar player, and from the second he put that guitar, he's like, I have an idea for guitar player. He just started playing that. And I was like, 'Oh, we got something good here.'”

    “RIP KP”
“'RIP KP' is about the sexy side of girl violence - when love takes over your brain like a cordyceps and suddenly you're getting fucked all over your house, acting a fool. It's the perfect way to open the record: dramatic, unhinged, and a little tongue-in-cheek. I wrote it during a full ego death - leaving LA, my label, my old life - and somehow landed back in NYC making the music I would've obsessed over at 15. It's a slutty anthem for the lesbians. We need debauchery this summer.”
