  • Big Thief Premieres New Song “Los Angeles” on BBC Radio 1

  • American alt-rock band Big Thief, consisting of Adrianne Lenker (vocals/guitar), Buck Meek (guitar) and James Krivchenia (drums), premiered a new song “Los Angeles” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders

The song is taken from their upcoming sixth studio album “Double Infinity”, which is set to be released on September 5, 2025 via 4AD.
It was written by Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, and James Krivchenia. Produced by Dom Monks.
The band released another song called “Grandmother” featuring American multi-instrumentalist Laraaji on the same day.
“Grandmother” was the first song that the band wrote as a trio.

The band lead singer Adrianne Lenker told Jack Saunders about “Los Angeles”, “It's that I started this song many years ago, and it was always missing a third verse, And finally, the three of us got together and cranked out that third verse and told the rest of the story.”

She continued, “That's like the eternal singing that rings forever. That resonates in your bones and becomes part of the fabric of your being. And it doesn't just have to mean singing literally. It can be the music of whatever that person's spirit and energy is.”
  • The new album comprises 9 tracks, featuring a guest appearance Laraaji. It is their first album in three years since the 2022 album “Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You”. Also it is the first release after bassist Max Oleartchik left the band.
The band recorded the album in New York last winter and collaborated with Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas.

  • The band said of the album, “We (James, Buck, & Adrianne) spent the last couple of years gathering songs, then asked our friends to join us in bringing the songs to life, and then whittled it down to the nine in this batch. We rode our bikes through the wintery streets of Manhattan to the Power Station, bright-eyed and curious as ever to play! We played our hearts out with our friends in that room, and thankfully it was recorded. What a gift! We're so proud and excited to be part of this and to share with you all!”
