Young Martyrs Drops New Music Video for “Never Gave You The Blues” featuring Natalie Brice
Bath-based alt-rock band Young Martyrs, consisting of Tom Corneill (vocals.guitar), Rich Beeby (bass/vocals), Lee Cole (drums/vocals) and Simon Whitehead (guitar), dropped a new music video for “Never Gave You The Blues” directed by Rhys Davies on September 12, 2025.
The song was originally released from their sophomore album “Time Is Not On Our Side” in 2023, featuring British folk-rock duo Sinnober's Natalie Brice.
The track fuses delicate rhythms, gorgeous harmonies and soaring country-esque guitar lines to delve into the breakdown of a meaningful relationship.
It was written by Tom Corneill and produced by Indefra Studio.
The band lead singer Tom Corneill said of the song, “‘Never Gave You The Blues’ is about the breakdown of something beautiful, but he sees it one way and she sees it another. He says if he’d known it was going to hurt them both he would never have started it... but we know that’s not really true. It’s a classic he said / she said story; Not everyone can be telling the truth.”- He continued, “This was the second single from our second album and was always a favourite for us but being a self-funded band we’d run out of budget after recording the album and releasing its first single. When we finished our first UK tour of sellout shows, this was the song everyone shouted for the most, so when we finally got some funding we knew we had to put something special together for it.”

The band shared on social media, “This one has been a long time coming. Thank you Rhys Davies for creating it and our friend Ian W for letting us shoot in the most beautiful space. And thank you SO MUCH our friend & collaborator Natalie Brice for being there 3 years ago when we recorded it and coming back again this year to shoot the video with us. You’re a star. Music produced by Indefra Studio, the handsomest deskmaster in the business.” - source : Apple Music
