better joy Announces New EP “at dusk”, Shares New Song “plugged in”
Manchester-based singer-songwriter Bria Keely, aka better joy has announced her upcoming sophomore EP “at dusk” will be released on October 31, 2025.
It is a sister EP to her debut EP “heading into blue”, which was released back in March.
The EP comprises 6 tracks, produced by Mike Hedges. It reflects a moment in her life “where I just stopped trying to please anyone or caring whether the music I wrote 'fit' a mold. It's not on anyone else to define what better joy is: it's on me”.
From the EP, she released a new song “plugged in” on August 20, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the EP, following “this part of town” released back in July.
It was written by Bria Keely and produced by Mike Hedges. The accompanying music video was directed by Bria Keely and Ben Gregory.
better joy said of the song, “For me, this song captures the moment of finally connecting with someone and understanding love for the very first time. Suddenly you see the world differently because you've unlocked another part of yourself, you've been 'plugged in'.”- She continued, “I am insanely proud of this song. I went on a little solo writing trip to the Isle of Wight and late one night I started singing this verse and for whatever reason (probs the wine), I stopped overthinking the songwriting process and just let it flow out of me; even though, some of it made no sense lyrically, I just felt a real connection to the bones of the song. I am so proud of this song and I am so excited it is finally yours. this ones for the lovers and that one person who makes you believe in it all (especially if you thought you were emotionally unavailable your whole life).”

better joy will support Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald's headline tour in November and February 2026. The tour kicks off at Eventim Apollo in London on November 20, 2025.

better joy said, “I still can't get my head round it, to be honest. I was playing to a Glasgow audience of 100 people in March and in December I'll be playing to over 13,000 at the Hydro Arena: it's a bit bonkers.”
