Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath Frontman, Dies at 76
British heavy metal singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025 after a years-long struggle with Parkinson's disease, at the age of 76.
His death comes just two weeks after his final live performance, Back to the Beginning, at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham on July 5, 2025.
His family abound in a statement, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy Osbourne was known as frontman of British heavy-metal band Black Sabbath.
The band has released 19 studio albums, including two No. 1 albums: “Paranoid” (1970) and “13” (2013). As a solo artist, he has released 13 studio albums.
In 2002, he became a reality TV star with his wildly successful MTV show “The Osbournes”.
Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Followed by, he was inducted into the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2006.
Ozzy Osbourne received the Ivor Novello award for lifetime achievement at a ceremony in London in 2015.
In 2023, he won The Icon Award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards.
At Thea time, he said, “I do count my lucky stars. I don't know why I'm still here and I do sometimes think I'm on borrowed time. I said to Sharon the other day, 'What a great fucking life we've had and what a great fucking experience.'”- Elton John said, “dear friend. So sad to hear the news of Ozzy Osbourne passing away. He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods - a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.”
The Foo Fighters said, “Rest in peace, Ozzy. And thank you for a lifetime of inspiration. Rock and Roll would not be as loud or as fun without you. You will be forever missed. Our deepest condolences to the entire Osbourne and Sabbath family.”
