Mabel Releases Self-Titled Mixtape “Mabel”
London-based singer-songwriter Mabel released her self-titled mixtape “Mabel” on July 25, 2026 via Polydor Records.
The mixtape comprises 9 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from British rapper Clavish. Produced by Oscar Scheller and Arthur Bean.
It is her first project in three years since the 2022 sophomore album “About Last Night...”. As the mixtape, it is the first release in 8 years, following the 2017 mixtape “Ivy to Roses”
She primarily recorded the mixtape in her home studio and worked with several artists, including producers Oscar Scheller and Arthur Bean. Blending multiple genres and themes of reconnection, the project captures the full spectrum of her artistry and identity, offering a raw and unfiltered statement of who Mabel is today.
Mabel said of the mixtape, “My first project in 3 years. It's called 'Mabel' because I wanted to reintroduce myself to you. I've been doing this for 10 years and I'm grateful for very moment, but this mixtape is definitely my most unfiltered body of work. The songs were made in my living room and all created in the last few months. The making of this project really brought me into myself and I hope that when you hear it you feel you know me better!!! Songs for the sad girls & boys, for the lovers and some for the haters too!!!”- She continued, “The tape is all new music made in the last few months with some of my nearest and dearest. It's really important to me with this project that people know that this is where I'm at now and I wanted it to come out without too much overthinking. It's a blend of all the genres and cultures that make me who I am and I would say it's beautiful organised chaos. It doesn't have to make sense to everyone and I think it's the first time in a long time I've been this unfiltered. There's both a simplicity and a depth to the music that I love, in a way I just wrote it without too much thought but afterwards I realised it's kind of a toxic love letter to my 10 years in the industry.”

Mabel explained some tracks for the mixtape.
“January 19”
“I wrote this exactly one month before my 29th birthday and I was reflecting on another year around the sun. The process of writing this was a brain dump about the pressure that I've felt throughout my career. The need for approval is something that has eaten me up at times but now I'm in a place where I'm so comfortable just doing things for me!”
“Turn Me Up”
“This track is definitely my favourite on the mixtape. It's about the imperfect side of relationships and meeting your match for better or for worse!”
“Love Me Gentle”
“This track is definitely my favourite on the mixtape. It's about the imperfect side of relationships and meeting your match for better or for worse! This is one of the first tracks that we made for my tape. It's me on keys. And it started just like singing, 'Love me gentle,' and it felt like initially, 'What is this? Is this a love song?' Sometimes like the song is almost, I don't even know what I'm writing about until I've written like a big chunk of it and 'Love Me Gentle' was definitely like that. And when it came to like we wrote the chorus first which I quite often do and then afterwards started really taking in the lyrics and when it came to the verse I was like, 'This is actually about my relationship to the industry, in general,' and wishing that it would be a bit gentler not just to me but to people in general just like the way that we judge artists, the way that people might be like, 'Oh, I want 'Finders Keepers' Mabel,' or, 'I want 'Don't Call Me Up' Mabel,' like you kind of always feel like you're letting somebody down and then also just on the industry side of it like behind the curtain um iI've spoken about this before, like I've been labelled difficult a lot. Difficult, I find, is such a like crazy label to give somebody. And it quite often happens with women that have opinions. And in general, I just was like, yeah, you need to be careful about how you talk about people and just like be more mindful of that. And so it's kind of like my plea in general I just was like yeah you need to be careful about how you talk about people and um just like be more mindful of that and so it's kind of like my plea in general to just like be kinder to people be kinder to yourself and that's it.” - source : Apple Music
