Zara Larsson Releases New Song “Crush”
Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson released the third single “Crush” from her upcoming fifth studio album “Midnight Sun” on August 15, 2025, following “Midnight Sun” and “Pretty Ugly”.
The album will be released on September 26, 2025 via Sommer House and Epic Records.
The song catches emotional duality, feelings for someone while you've already got a good thing at home.
Zara Larsson co-wrote the song with producers Helena Gao, Margo XS and longtime collaborator MNEK. Produced by MNEK and Zhone.
She has already filmed a music video for the song, which is coming soon.
The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by MNEK, Margo XS, Zhone, and Helena Gao.
It is her firs album in a year and a half since the 2024 album “Venus”.- Zara Larsson said of the album, “In thinking about this album, I thought, 'What do I want to say? What do I want this to be?' I really am proud of my Swedish pop heritage, so I wanted to write about a Swedish summer where the sun never goes down. I wanted the whole album to feel like it's a summer night and it never ends. This record encompasses that, how life is so beautiful it makes you cry. It just feels like me-knowing myself, this album is just really, really me. And also, no one can do me the way I can.”
She told Rolling Stone Music Now about recording, “Honestly, I don’t really give a f*** what other people are doing. When I'm recording, I usually go into podcast mode, like I listen to a lot of podcasts and a lot of ASMR and just kind of tune out from what everyone else is releasing and doing. The trends of music go up and down.” -
